German armed forces express further trust in MAN trucks
BwFuhrpark Service GmbH orders 500 TGA vehicles
The order from BwFuhrpark Service GmbH is for 500 TGA 18.360 4X4 BB with platform bodies from various manufacturers. They will be delivered by the end of 2007 and used above all for transporting cabins in German and in other countries where the German Bundeswehr is active. Last year the Bundeswehr subjected a prototype to six months' testing.
The customer putting such trust in MAN, BwFuhrpark Service GmbH, is one that depends to an exceptional degree on its vehicles being absolutely reliable. Only last year BwFuhrpark Service GmbH ordered 592 TGA driving school trucks and 92 wheel loaders for the German Air Force. "We have had very good experience with MAN vehicles, so the decision was not a difficult one," said Rolf Lübke, Managing Director of BwFuhrpark Service GmbH.
The vehicles have a military payload of 5 tonnes and meet the special require-ments for a low-torsion load platform body. They are equipped with Euro 4 D20 Common Rail engines with exhaut-gas recirculation (EGR) and maintenance-free MAN PM-Kat®, i.e. no additive such as AdBlue® is needed for compliance with the statutory emission limits.
